Day 22- 2 bottles down, 6 to go!

Sleepy Girl

Grandma came to visit!

Why she is called "My Scrunchy Face Girl"

I obeyed her onesie!

Dad feeding AG
Good Morning everyone! I know its a little confusing to read about yesterday today. I just really don't have time the day of to write everything down. The mornings seem a little simpler and easier to get a good, uninterrupted 30 min on the computer. Plus, Hubby uses the computer for school almost every afternoon/evening, so this is really the only time I have to get online during the whole day. That being said, I am writing about yesterday, Monday the 7th. And I try to use the present tense in all the posts so that you can read it as if I wasn't a chicken with my head cut off and had 30-45 free moments to sit and relax and regale you with stories of my daughters flatulence on the actual day this all occurred. Alas, it will probably never work out that way. My apologies! Just wanted to clear up the confusing nature of my mommy writing for anyone that has been.... well, confused about what I write and when I post. Don't pay attention to the dates at the top. Public Service Announcement brought to you by the Pumping Machine.

Avery did so, so good today! At 8:30 AM she pooped and literally projectile peed halfway across her isolette! It was hilarious. she only had 1/2 a cc of residual and the nurse (our fave!! Jess <3 ) said that she had a great night. When we got there, Dad wanted to feed her and "break Mom's record of 21 cc's eaten". Yes, we mostly make everything into a competition. It makes for a healthy marriage ; ) Well, I am happy to report that he did indeed shatter Mom's record. She took the whole bottle!!! I was dancing, I was immensely proud of my big one and my little one. Her labs came back good, and her jaundice levels have dropped to 2! Praise God! She hasn't had a Brady episode in a few days. All the nurses say that her "suck, swallow, breathe" coordination is awesome. She never has any Brady's or lower blood oxygen levels when she eats, which a lot of babies do. I can't believe she ate the whole bottle. I was on cloud 9!
At 11:30 AM she gave back 7 cc's of residual, BUT she was on her left side, which is not her strong side for digestion. Grandma came to see the babe after Mom had changed her diaper and taken her temp. At 2:30 PM she had half a cc of residual and actually pooped out of the back of diaper! (Mom didn't put it on too well... sorry Avery!) So we got to put a new onesie on her, which I secretly love. As you can see from one of the pictures above, AG tends to sleep with one eye open. It's super funny. She will literally pass out with one eye peeped open. So cute! 8:30 PM brought us 1 cc residual, and a poopy diaper. She lost about 10 grams which isn't a whole lot, but we are still fervently praying for weight gain! The nurse showed us a new way to hold and a new way to burp her and ::::drumroll please::::: she took a whole bottle again!! What a SuperStar!!  We were great with this. I think if she takes both bottles tomorrow, they will add another bottle the following day. Please keep praying that baby girl gains healthy weight and is awake to eat and finish every bottle we give her. Jesus has answered that prayer in a big way; we are so grateful! She has to eat all 8 bottles before they will let her go home. We (and Jesus) can do this!!

Mom is going to go lay down now for about 30 min before its pump and go back to the hospital. I went 4.5 hours last night sleeping and woke up in excrutiating pain.... so I don't think I'll get to do that again soon : ( God continues to be so GREAT and answers our prayers daily. Thank you to everyone who is still joining in praying for Avery. Your prayers are working, and I could never thank you enough. We delight in the Lord's work, and hope that today, we are able to bless people in some way. Let's keep praying for minimal residuals, that all of my milk and the calories are absorbed by Baby Girl so that she can gain weight, that she takes every bottle we give her in its entirety, and that she stays healthy and happy : ) We are incredibly blessed to have her in our lives and to have such wonderful people behind us in this journey. May you be blessed today as well!! xox
